Cisco Network Academy
Course Description
The Cisco Network Academy is Preparing tomorrow's technology leaders. Their global e-learning program offers students an opportunity to pursue IT curricula through online instructor-led training and hands-on lab exercises. Student's enrolled here can take all four semesters of the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associatte) Curricula. The course consists of three core components.
1.) Cisco Network Academy online curriculmn (available from http://cisco.netacad.net )
2.) In class assessment, each student will be graded on a variety of in class assessments, developed from the readings in both the online curriculum and the lab manual.
3.) Completion of in class lab exercises.
Upon completion the student will recieve a local certificate for each semester of the CCNA curriculum they finish.
Prerequisites
Successful completion of High School Computers is required before taking this class. Since each CCNA course is sequential each one must also be successfully completed before advancing to the next. Students must pass the online final exam or they will recieve and incomplete and be forced to retake the course.
CISCO Assignments
All curricular related assignments are available online, all lab assignments are in the CCNA labs and study guide.
Grading Policy
Grading is proportionally based on a combination of the students' Cisco exam grades, in class assessment, and lab work.
Rubrics
Students will be graded on
1.) Online exams including the final, students must receive atleast a 70 on each online exam including the final. (failure to meet this minimum will result in an incomplete or failure in the course, since these courses are sequential you will not be allowed to register for the next course in the sequence without meeting these requirements, this will most likely result in retaking the entire course)
2.) In class assessment, their will be daily assessments given at the begining of each class, These will be based on the reading.
3.) Lab work. There will be a minimum of one lab assigned per week.
