Lori Witherell read the call of the meeting and announced the polls were open for voting on the proposed capital/excel project.
8:00 P.M.
After ascertaining if all had voted who wished, Ward Remington, Chairperson, declared the polls closed and requested the tellers to verify the ballots.
Ballots on the Capital/Excel Proposal as follows:
Proposition I:
63 paper ballots cast
5 absentee ballots cast
68 total ballots cast
53 in favor
15 opposed
The Chairperson declared the following Proposition passed:
1Resolved that the Board of Education of the Parishville-Hopkinton Central School District is hereby authorized to undertake certain capital improvements consisting of reconstruction of the K-12 school building complex and facilities, site improvements and the acquisition of certain original furnishings, equipment, and apparatus and other incidental improvements required in connection therewith for such construction and school use, all at an estimated maximum aggregate cost of $500,000; and to appropriate and expend from the existing building capital reserve fund $35,000 for such costs, and that the balance of such costs, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax to be collected in annual installments, with such tax to be offset by state aid available therefor; and, in anticipation of such tax, debt obligations of the School District as may be necessary not to exceed $465,000 shall be issued.
Motion made by J. Young and seconded by L. Witherell to adjourn at 8:15 P.M.
