Musicality 2014

Amanda Mason plans to raise money for her schools music program and provide entertainment for the community with Musicality 2014.

This will be her third year offering her program. Musicality 2012 and 2013 were successful in raising over $3000 in cash and musical instrument repair kits for the school. She is working hard to make this year’s program a success. Amanda J. Mason said she really enjoys all types of music. This year she attended SUNY Potsdam’s Crane summer youth camp. She came away invigorated and motivated to share her love of music with her community. “Music is the most important thing in my life,” she says. “Budget cuts are scary, I don’t know what we would do without our music programs. So many would lose if the programs are cut. This event is my service to my school and community to keep the music in our school system with as much funding as possible so the students can have a quality educational experience.”

All profits from the event will benefit the Parishville Hopkinton Central School music program. Musicality 2014 will be held on September 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Parishville Fireman’s field/hall on the Rutman Road, off County Route 47. There will be a musical talent contest, Rosies Hawg Dogs, St. Lawrence Valley Roasters coffee, bake sale, face painting, fun photo area, coloring area, musical instrument petting zoo, silent auction, music lessons, novelties, 50/50 raffle, karaoke, and of course musical performances. Jack Kelleys Little Big Band, Adirondack Folk Singer Roy Hurd, Kathy McKay, Nick Rycroft, Lori White and Lori Knowles, SUNY Potsdam Crane Students, and Amanda Mason will be there to perform as well as other musicians from our local area.

Miss Mason is looking for motivated people to perform for the talent contest (please contact Amanda space is limited), judges, as well as volunteers to help run the booths, set up and clean up, bake goodies for the bake sale, those to offer music lessons, karaoke performers and musical entertainers for the day, and of course the extremely important spectators.
