Dear Parent,

We have posted several forms that were distributed to your child on the first day of school. We would appreciate it if these forms could be completed and returned by your child to the main office or their first period teacher. The forms posted serve several purposes that are important to our school.

Parent Resources on the Common Core Standards (Updated)

Image of a book

A critical component of a student’s success in school is dependent on what and how they learn at home. The Toolkit for Parents and Families is a collection of materials and resources that will help parents and families understand the New York State education reform initiatives and how the changes will help your child graduate from high school ready for college and careers. We encourage parents and families to use these tools in conjunction with resources and information you receive from your child’s school and teachers. We will continue to build upon this toolkit as we receive feedback from educators and families.

You can find the toolkit and other resources here:

Playground Committee Box Top for Education Program

Dear Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles,

In September PHCS embarked on a long-term project to build a new playground. This project will take a lot of commitment and fundraising to accomplish. We hope to have a safe, fun, and handicapped accessible area for our students to enjoy.

Legacy Projects

Seniors taking Backyard Geology are asked to contribute something to the study of geology at Parishville-Hopkinton Central School by leaving behind a “legacy”. This involves their doing a project to add to the collegial environment of the school. It should add to the aesthetics of the instructional environment at Parishville-Hopkinton or promote the geological sciences. Topics related more specifically to the geology or mineralogy of St. Lawrence County are encouraged. The project should be something that they can take pride in as alumni.

College Readiness Information for Juniors and Seniors

Dear Juniors, Seniors, Parents, and Guardians:

Are you receiving a ton of mail from colleges? Do you know when the SAT and/or ACT should be taken? Do you even know what they are? Are you worried about the cost of college? Parents and students alike are dealing with these issues. Juniors are starting to explore their options, and many seniors need some help and direction as they decide what their interests are, where to apply, what to major in, what they want in a roommate, and many other important details.
